Alright guys, I’m ready to bust out the movie recommendations for you! There is seriously something SO comforting to me about cuddling up in my comfy clothes and watching a movie. Date night for my husband and I is typically a large butter popcorn and a trip to the theater. But ya know, COVID-19. So we’re doing lots of movie nights at home. I ESPECIALLY love my Rom-Coms. Today I’m giving you a list of 5 recommendations AND where you can stream them! There are plenty more recommendations where these come from, so if you like it, leave a comment and I’ll do another series!

Watch: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Where: Netflix

Why: Netflix knocked it out of the park with this one. Lara Jean writes notes to her crushes. They get the letters by mistake. Romantic comedy ensues. Basically I love this one because it makes me feel those butterfly high school feelings. It makes me feel like I’m 16 again watching a Rom-Com and feeling the comfort that comes with it. It’s super cute and highly recommend.

Watch: My Best Friend’s Wedding

Where: Hulu

Why: It’s a 90’s Rom-Com with Julia Roberts. Enough said. Actually one of my top favorite movies EVER. I never get tired of watching it and I was in love with her best friend. My aunt was only 7 years older than me so it was like having a cool older sister growing up and she introduced me to this movie at probably, idk, 10 years old? It gives me all the nostalgia feels when I watch it.

Watch: Maid in Manhattan

Where: Hulu

Why: First off, JLo doesn’t get the credit she deserves as a Rom-Com leading lady. There, someone had to say it. Anyways, this is PURE early 2000’s gold. JLo dresses up as a fancy lady in the hotel she works at. Guy falls in love with her. Doesn’t know the real her. But come on, it’s JLo, it has a happy ending. Also, that peach number she wears? MAGICAL.

Watch: Never Been Kissed

Where: Rent on Amazon for $4 (worth it, promise)

Why: Drew is EASILY my favorite Rom-Com leading lady. I grew up relating SO hard to this girl in the movie (although my first kiss was at 17 but still) and it’s such a sweet one to watch with any younger female in your life. Side story, one time someone told me I looked like Drew and I CLUNG to that compliment. I have no clue if I really even see it myself, but I took that as the highest form of flattery because I’m obsessed with her. Ok back to the movie. Basically it has all a Rom-Com needs. Cute girl, cute guy, guy falls for girl, girl is hiding something. Also, if you personally know me, hit me up and I’ll let you rent by DVD copy.

Watch: A Cinderella Story

Where: Netflix

Why: I mean, this is a no brainer. You’ve probably already seen it. You probably need to watch it again. Also, has one of the BEST damn comebacks of ALL TIME. “No YOU listen….waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought: useless and disappointing.” And when they kissed to Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World? SOBS. Also, TikTok is bringing this movie to a whole new generation with the audio clip of Hilary Duff saying “Laugh Out Loud”.
