Featured Vendor: Basic Invites

Hey guys,

So those of you who know me, may know that I have a slight unhealthy obsession with stationary. I was definitely the kid (cough, teenager) who got so excited when it was back to school time because that meant I could get new folders and notebooks! So it was no surprise that when it came to my own wedding, my stationary was very important to me. I even remember my dad asking why I needed a please save the date card and I told him I just had to do them because it felt like ME. I knew 10 year old Kinsey would be disappointed if adult Kinsey didn’t take the ONE chance in her life to have nice stationary and invitations!

However, when I got engaged in 2016, I was not yet a wedding photographer and truly didn’t understand or even know where to look for my Save the Dates and wedding invitations. If I was a bride during COVID-19 I definitely wouldn’t have known where to look for wedding date change cards that’s for dang sure! I made my own Save the Dates and wedding invitations back in 2016 but I’m so happy to be able to let you guys know of a much easier way to get custom invitations in 2020 and beyond; Basic Invite.

So here’s the real deal guys, Basic Invite’s marketing team reached out to me about doing a post together and I was like YES as soon as I saw their products. Because here’s a few things that are true about me: I’m a perfectionist, I love stationery supplies, and I gravitate to all things wedding. This brand is made for brides like you and I!

Basic Invite offers custom samples of your please save the dates and wedding invitations before you ever print the final order so you’re able to see the paper quality and what the invites will truly look and feel like. For my perfectionist tendencies that was amazing to see! Ok another thing that I love, is they have almost unlimited colors on their website. But not just that, they have instant previews online! There isn’t a one size fits all vibe going on here. You can change the color of elements on their card templates and are able to pick through (almost) endless color options. I can not tell you how amazing that is! Because when I go to look for a pink card with my husband, he sees pink while I see blush, bubblegum, fuschia, and petal pink and I need to see all examples, thank you very much.

Along with their custom samples and colors, they also have over 40 different colors of envelopes to choose from. And I know this is a small and random detail, but I’m all about the small things: their envelopes are all peel and seal so that you don’t have to lick a million envelopes! And during COVID-19 I especially appreciate this detail as well as your guests I’m sure.

One thing that I often hear brides ask me is what all needs to go in their wedding invitation suite. I totally get this question because even when I picked my wedding invites out, I didn’t know what all to include or how to make them match. The good news is that with Basic Invite all of their wedding invitations are a part of a set! They offer save the dates, wedding invitations, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you cards!

Finally, for my couples affected by COVID-19, this is for you. They have wedding date change cards! I know so many couples have been having to reschedule weddings and the last thing you want to have to worry about is how to tell your guests you have a new date. That’s where Basic Invite can come in! They have adorable change the date cards, which even a few years ago, who would have even thought you may need to use? Their designs are so aesthetically pleasing too that hopefully it adds a little relief to an otherwise stressful situation.

I have just a few other things to leave you with about Basic Invite! They offer free wedding websites (again customizable with colors), free address collection service (makes sending Save the Dates, invitations, and thank you cards all the easier), and they offer seal & send wedding invites! If you are busy like me, these could be a game changer. They come with a tear off RSVP card for guests, they arrive with guest addresses printed on the front, and all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and close with a sticker.

So I hope you guys can see why I absolutely loved partnering with Basic Invite for this post! I truly would have loved having these options as a bride and am so happy that I can share the love with my future brides!
